John Michael Ratliff - Seasoned Leader in Operations and Engineering

A seasoned executive, John Michael Ratliff has experience in operations, engineering, and explosives work across multiple industries. From 2004 to 2017, he served as chief operations officer at Jackson Kayak, where he was involved in daily operations, personnel management, vendor sourcing, and product development. John Michael Ratliff was also among the company’s original shareholders and took part in its expansion.

Currently, Mr. Ratliff works as a blaster and drill operator with R. L. Caudill Construction. In this role, he is responsible for handling controlled blasting operations and ensuring compliance with ATF and Kentucky Department of Mining regulations. His work includes heavy equipment mobilization, seismographic data analysis, and safety coordination. He passed Kentucky’s blaster licensure exam after two months of experience.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Ratliff held roles at Rogers Foam Corporation and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, where he focused on product development, quality assurance, and process efficiency. He studied chemistry and business at the University of Louisville. He is also an accomplished pilot, Mensa member, and active participant in Masonic and Shriners organizations. His interests range from aviation and whitewater kayaking to electronics and bourbon appreciation.
